ISLAMABAD: An intense earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Peshawar and other adjoining areas early Monday morning.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, a moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, Lower Dir, Mardan and other adjoining areas, as reported by a Private news channel.
The earthquake’s epicenter was the Afghanistan’s Hindukash region while the depth of the earthquake was 184kms.
Reacting to the tremor, the people left their houses in panic and started reciting Kalam-e-Tayyaba.
Fortunately, no report of casualty or damage to property was received from any part of the province.
