ISLAMABAD – Amid fears and panic after the outbreak of novel Coronavirus, foreign nationals and students are boarding planes to get out of China. However, Dr Usman Janjua, a Pakistani faculty member at Changsha Medical University, has volunteered himself to join his Chinese friends to fight against deadly novel Coronavirus that has killed over 300 people and infected more than 14,000.

In a video message sent from Changsha to Pakistan Today, Dr Usman Janjua, 29, said that he has got himself registered as a volunteer with the Chinese authorities and was waiting for a decision by the higher authorities.

China was like second home for him and hence he wanted to serve his Chinese friends as a brother.

Dr Janjua also shared that as a doctor he feels that the Chinese government has taken “adequate and powerful” measures at the right time to tackle the virus.

He also expressed his confidence that China will soon be able to defeat the novel coronavirus. He added that soon Pakistani and citizens from other countries would find themselves safe.
