ISLAMABAD, Dec. 15 (INP-WealthPK) — The import of pharmaceuticals fell by 66.70% during the first four months of the current fiscal year (2022-23) in comparison to the same period last year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan imported medicines worth $447.701 million from July to October (2022-23) as opposed to $1434.613 million from July to October (2021-22).
The country imported 13,619 metric tonnes of pharmaceutical items during the months under review compared to the imports of 9,324 metric tonnes previous year, a 46.06% increase in quantity.
The country’s imports of medicines declined 63.31% year over year in October 2022, from $287.090 million in October 2021 to $105.337 million.
When compared to the $169.095 million in imports in September 2022, the monthly value of pharmaceutical imports decreased by 37.71% in October 2022.
