Islamabad, May 24 (INP): In collaboration with the Consulate General of China in Lahore, Pakistan, an 8-member delegation comprising scholars, international affairs experts, senior media practitioners, and heads of think-tanks departed for China.

Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Zhao Shiren, told Gwadar Pro that this is the first media and think-tank delegation organised by the Chinese Consulate General in Lahore to visit China after the Covid-19 pandemic. “It’s high time to resume people-to-people exchanges,” he added.

“The past three years have witnessed tremendous changes in China. This week-long visit will present our Pakistani friends with a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic picture of China, further promoting the friendly relations and understanding between the two peoples. I sincerely wish all members of the delegation a pleasant, fruitful, and constructive trip,” he added.

During their visit to China, the delegation will tour Chinese public and private enterprises, the China Railway Group, engineering corporations, and media houses.

The delegation will also get a comprehensive opportunity to witness and explore the marvels of Shenzhen, a fast-emerging hub of trade, industry, and economic power in China.

This activity is taking place at a watershed moment as Pakistan and China are celebrating the 72nd anniversary of Sino-Pak diplomatic relations, in addition to commemorating 10 years of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a signature project of the Belt and Road Initiative.
