ISLAMABD, Dec. 15 (INP): For the first time in Gwadar, “Financial Literacy Gala” has been organized offering youth of Gwadar an immersive understanding about the processes, procedures and modalities of financial institutions and financial instruments, Gwadar Pro reported on Thursday.

University of Gwadar organized a financial literacy gala in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) which was participated by a sizeable gathering of young male and female educated people of Gwadar.

In this event, different banks participated and displayed their stalls and educated the youth about the financial institutions and financial instruments they offer. Students from different schools, colleges, and universities have shown interest and visited the stalls.

On the occasion, a Financial Literacy Lecturer Session was organized in the seminar hall which was presided over by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed.

Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed welcomed the guests and started the session by emphasizing the importance of financial literacy.

Later Mr. Mohammad Iqbal, Area Coordinator of SBP addressed the audience about financial literacy and the State Bank’s programs and activities.

Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Commerce and Social Sciences, expressed his views on financial literacy and its relationship with economic development.

And the findings that the professor shared with the audience were very helpful for the participants to gain more understanding of financial literacy.

At the end of the session, Pro Vice-Chancellor UG Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed presented the commemorative shields of the university to the distinguished guests on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir.
