ISLAMABAD, Mar 27 (EW): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will shortly hear Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s pre-arrest bail plea in seven cases.

The PTI chief had arrived at IHC from Lahore, earlier today, to seek pre-arrest bail in different cases registered against him in the federal capital.

Imran Khan will also appear in court in a case related to vandalism at the Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad.

Imran Khan will be accompanied by his two senior lawyers Naeem Panjotha and Salman Safdar. The PTI chairman will seek interim bail based on security concerns.

Security concerns in the judicial complex will be mentioned by Imran Khan in the petition.

Cases were registered against the PTI chairman at CTD, Golra, and Ramna police stations for vandalism on his arrival at the judicial complex in Islamabad.

According to sources, Imran Khan will also hold final consultations on some legal aspects with his legal team.

Imran Khan and 17 other party workers have been booked in two cases under terror sections for attacking the judicial complex on March 18.

Sources said that Imran Khan has also been issued notices to appear at the Golra police station. A police official said that legal action will be taken against those who will resort to violence during the court appearance of Imran Khan.

The police officer said police raided against those PTI workers who had attacked the police personnel and damaged property. He said that the identification of 64 more PTI workers has been completed and they will be arrested soon. He said that over 900 suspects have so far been arrested on charges of attacking security personnel, lighting fires and damaging public property.

“Whosoever has been arrested so far has not only been identified by the arrested suspects but there is incontrovertible evidence and footage against them,” the police officer.

Answering a question, he said that challans of cases registered against Imran Khan and all other accused were being completed, which will be submitted to the courts concerned.
