Srinagar: Three Kashmiri fighters were killed after a contingent of Indian army, counter-insurgent forces of the Jammu and Kashmir police and other Indian paramilitaries raided a house in Zoonimar area of Srinagar city.
Sources said that soon after the cordon of the house, the forces fired a barrage of bullets at the house and other ammunition killing the three fighters instantly.
Soon after the gunfight ended local residents held a massive protest against the killings. The Jammu and Kashmir police and other Indian paramilitary forces fired pellets and tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters, a local resident said.
He said that the youth among the protesters retaliated to the police brutality and pelted stones ensuing clashes.
