Srinagar, Indian Occupied Kashmir: The Indian army Wednesday killed four Kashmiri fighters in a nocturnal raid in the southern part of occupied Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Sources said that the Indian army and the counter-insurgent Jammu and Kashmir police raided the house where the fighters were staying, in the wee hours on Wednesday.
A local news gathering agency Kashmir News Observer reported that the army and police pounded the house with grenades resulting in a gunfight that left four fighters slain.
The slain fighters have been identified as Uzair Ahmad, a resident of Chesti Colony Baramulla; Basharat Ahmad, a resident of Nikloora village in Pulwama; Wakeel Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nikloora Pulwama and Tariq Ahmad Bhat a resident of Khassipora village in Shopian.
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson said that arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.
