ISLAMABAD, Oct.7 (INP) Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during their meeting in Tibet, China have reaffirmed their commitment pushing forward China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
According to a Gwadar Pro’s report, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries pledged to enhance high-level exchanges and strategic communication for continued cooperation.
The Ministers held an in-depth exchange of views on Pakistan-China ironclad friendship and regional situation.
“It was a pleasure to address the 3rd Trans-Himalaya Forum hosted by China in Tibet today.
Pakistan looks forward to continued engagement with regional countries to tackle common challenges of climate change and environmental degradation.
Our two countries will continue to elevate our All-weather Strategic Ties to new heights,” said FM Jilani.
China held the third Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation in Tibet from Oct.4-5. The two-day meeting was held in the Nyingchi city of China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.
Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani participated in the meeting at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
During his stay in Tibet, Jilani addressed the opening ceremony of the forum. He also met Mongolia’s deputy prime minister and Afghanistan’s interim foreign minister.
The Trans-Himalaya Forum was initiated in 2018 to deepen practical cooperation among regional countries on various subjects, including geographical connectivity, environmental protection, ecological preservation, and enhancing cultural linkages.
The theme of this year’s meeting was ecological civilization and environmental protection. The last in-person meeting of the forum was held in 2019.
