ISLAMABAD, Nov 03 (INP-WealthPK): Pakistan and Kazakhstan have reiterated their steadfast commitment to establishing new linkages in the fields of science, technology, innovation and research.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Agha Hassan Baloch and the Kazakh Ambassador Yerhan Kistafin held a meeting here to discuss ways to expand the bilateral connections between the fraternal nations in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and regional connectivity through delegation-level discussions, joint working group meetings and the signing of MoUs.
They also talked about the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC)’s 15th session on science and technology, which will take place in Islamabad next month. It will be attended by the majority of the OIC’s scientific and technologically advanced nations and is aimed at strengthening their scientific and research cooperation.
The discussion also included the side meetings to be held at the OIC’s 15th session between the Kazakh Ministry of Higher Education and Science, Pakistan’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the Higher Education Commission, and different universities from both sides.
Federal Minister Agha Hassan Baloch while talking about the summit, said that the mutual collaboration of OIC member states in Science, Technology, Innovation and Research was both highly hopeful and urgent. He added that Pakistan will be represented by Joint Scientific Adviser and Director General of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority Zainul Abdeen.
While commending the progress of Pakistan in Science and Technology, Ambassador Yerhan Kistafin underlined his willingness to expand scientific collaboration, experience sharing and MoU signing with Pakistan.
The two nations’ scientific cooperation was initially established in 1999, and in 2020 it was once again extended for the next 10 years. It would further activate during the OIC’s 15th session.
