ISLAMABAD, June 1 (INP): Pakistan’s first-ever land containerized seafood cargo successfully arrived in Xinjiang through the Karakoram Highway.

It is being described as Pakistan’s major achievement using land route exporting its seafood. The shipping took 10 days to reach China. Whereas shipment through sea route normally takes 28 days.

Frozen seafood departed Pakistan’s Gwadar Port on the shores of the Arabian Sea in container trucks and entered China via the Khunjerab Pass, a land port in southern Xinjiang’s Kashgar prefecture, a more than 1,500-kilometer journey, the China Daily reported recently

After a successful trial, regular shipments started on April 1, according to Mufeng Biological Technology, which shipped products from its cold-storage distribution center near Khunjerab, a seasonal port opened recently.
